"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"
Hello everyone! Because it's Wednesday and quite gloomy and wet outside it's a good time to write a fun post! The quote above is from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and it made me think about names, what they mean and why they are chosen. Last year a very entertaining email was circulated around INTO staff which contained a video from youtube about a reporter in Beijing interviewing people on the street about their English names if they had one. It's an really interesting portrayal of how cultures adapt to eachother and how they work side by side together, have a watch and see what you think!:
